Bagerhat, Aug 20 (UNB) - At least 15 people were injured in a clash between the activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Jhanjhania in Rampal upazila on Monday.
Police said a group of 30/35 Shibir activists took out a procession from Rampal upazila headquarters after saying their Eid-ul-Fitr prayers and were heading to Solakura village to offer fateha at the grave of former Jamaat leader Maulana Abu Bakar Siddiqui in the morning.
As the procession reached in front of Jhanjhania Health Complex it encountered a group of BCL activists and an altercation ensued followed by a clash which left 15 injured on both sides.
Being informed police rushed in and controlled the situation.
Among the injured Yahiya Sheikh, 20, and Hasan Ali, 21, of Chhatra Shibir were admitted the health complex.
