Brac official killed by muggers in Sylhet
Sylhet, Aug 15 (UNB) – An official of NGO Brac was killed by muggers at Upashahar in the city on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Hannan, accounts officer of Brac Sylhet office. He hailed from Gandamara village in Biswambhorpur upazila of Sunamganj.
Sources said Hannan along with Tk 7.20 lakh came out of his Upashahar office at about 1:45pm when some snatchers swooped on him and tried to snatch his money on No. 3 road.
When resisted, the criminals stabbed him with sharp weapons, leaving him seriously injured.
The snatchers fled the scene as local people rushed in hearing screams of the victim. However, the muggers failed to loot the money from the NGO official.
The injured official died on the way to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
A case was filed.
