Gunrunner arrested with arms in Doulatdia ferry ghat
Benapole, Aug 5 (UNB) – Police arrested a gunrunner along with arms and ammunition from a bus at zero point in Doulatdia ferry ghat in Goalanda upazila of Rajbari district early Sunday.
The arrested was identified as Abu Bakar, son of Rabiul Sardar of Bujtala village under Benapole port thana.
Goalanda ghat thana OC Abul Bashar said on secret information they conducted a drive in the area and arrested Bakar while he was coming from Jessore town by a bus of Balaka Paribahan at about 1:45am.
Later, police recovered one foreign made pistol, two bullets and two magazines from his possession.
A case was filed in this connection.
