Housewife ‘commits’ suicide in Magura

Magura, Aug 3 (UNB) – A housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at Joka village in Sripur upazila on Wednesday night.

Te deceased was identified as Ankhi Begum, 30, wife of Saiful Islam of the village.

Police quoting family sources said Ankhi, daughter of Aziz Joarder of Bagbari village in Sadar upazila was married off with Saiful one year back. Since then Saiful used to torture Ankhi over flimsy grounds.

Neighbours said being failed to bear the inhuman torture Ankhi committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room at the dead of night.

On information, police rushed in and sent the body to hospital morgue.

An UD case was filed in this connection.
