2nd SAFF Women’s Football: Residential camp for B’desh team members begins

Dhaka, July 31 (UNB) - Residential training camp for Bangladesh women’s team, which will take part in the 2nd SAFF Women’s Footall Championship, began here today (Tuesday) at the BFF House dormatory.

The 2nd SAFF Women’s Championship will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from September 7-16 this year.

Out of the preliminary selected 32 players, 27 have alreday reporterd for the camp while the remanining five players are expected to join the camp tomorrow (Wedesday).

Prior to the camp, officials of BFF Women’s Football Committee headed by its chairman Sirajul Islam Bachchu, met with the players at the BFF conference room today (Tuesday).

Deputy chairman of the committee Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, BFF acting general secretary Abu Naeem Sohag, trainer Golam Rabbani Chhotan, camp in charge Lajul Karim Kasturi were also present on the occasion.

Preliminary selected 32 players:: Goalkeepers - Sabina Akhtar (Jessore), Muslima Akter Molly (Jessore), Asma Khatun (Jessore), and Rawshan Ara (Satkhira);

Defenders - Trishna Chakma (Ansar & VDP), Farhana Khatun (Ansar & VDP), Khaleda Khatun (Jessore), Suinu Ching Marma (Ansar & VDP), Bely Khatun (Jessore), Surovi Akter Eti (N’Ganj), Rupa Akhter (N’Ganj), Jhumu Akhter Sanu (N’Ganj), Khadija Khatun Ruma (Satkhira), Tumpa Moni Leju (Satkhira), Sajeda (Jessore), Laboni (Jessore);

Midfielders - Nubai Ching Marma (Ansar & VDP), Suing Pro Marma (Ansar & VDP), Mainu Marma (Ansar & VDP), Asia Khatun Bithi (N’Ganj), Mirona (Bagerhat), Jannatul Ferdous Rikta (Satkhira), Fatema-Tuz-Zohra Mukta (Satkhira), Jahanara Akhter Janu (Ansar & VDP), Rupali Chakma (Ansar & VDP), and Nipa Malika Padma (Gopalgonj);
