News - Ex-warrant officer, his wife killed in Dakkhin Khan
Dhaka, July 31 (UNB) - A former junior commissioned officer of the Armed Force and his wife were killed in their Dakkhin Khan residence here on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as Nasir Uddin, 66, a retired warrant officer, and his wife Mukta Begum, 55.

Police said the couple was found dead in their house at 17 Sayednagar under Dakkhin Police Station before Iftar on Tuesday.

The victims had been living in the house alone as their three sons and one daughter live elsewhere in the city.

Quoting neighbours, SI Fayez of the police station said their part-time housemaid found the couple lying in a pool of blood in the house when she had been there just before Iftar.

He said Nasir Uddin earlier had gone to the local kitchen market after Johr prayers.

SI Fayez suspected that miscreants slaughtered Nasiruddin and strangulated his wife to death some time between 3pm to 4 pm.

Further details of the incident were awaited.
