Govt employee killed in city road accident

Dhaka, July 23 (UNB) - A government employee was crushed under the wheels of a bus in the city’s Rajuk Avenue on Monday.

The victim was identified as M Abul Kashem, 58, an employee of the Energy Ministry.

Hospital sources said Kashem was returning home located at East Boxnagar of Sarulia in Demra after completion of his office duty in the afternoon.

When he was trying to get into a Jatrabari-bound bus at the Bangabhaban crossing at about 3:30 pm, he suddenly fell on the road and was crushed under the wheels of the bus.

Kashem was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty emergency doctor pronounced him dead.

Police detained the bus but its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
