News - Stanley interactive piano player now taking requests via Twitter

Geeky Gadgets Online

Stanley is an interactive piano player that will be performing live from July 20 to 22. Stanley is a project created by the folks over at Digital Kitchen. Wanna hear your tune? You can send your song requests via Twitter.

Stanley is equipped with a computer and the computer is what actually receives song requests via Twitter. The computer then queues the songs and sends a reply each time a song is ready to be played. Stanley has tons of songs stored on its MIDI library. It sends data to the hardware controller so that each note will activate a solenoid valve to play the keys on the piano.

The creators of this project have no plans of selling the piano player in the future. I guess they are just all about the art.
