Pabna, July 18 (UNB) - The students of Pabna Science and Technology University (PUST) blocked Dhaka-Pabna highway to realise their 8-point-demand which include resignation of the Vice Chancellor and restoration of congenial atmosphere at the campus.

Several hundred students of PUST came out of Rajapur campus of PUST and gathered on Dhaka-Pabna highway at 10:45 am and blocked the road by placing barricade on it from 11 am.

However, they withdrew the road blockade at 2 pm following assurance made by the local administration that their demands will be placed before higher authority. They also threatened to go for tougher movement if their demands are not met by Friday.

The SUST students have been staging demonstration on the campus since June 15 protesting alleged irregularities and corruption by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Mozaffor Hossain demanding his removal and ensuring congenial campus atmosphere.

They have intensified their movement recently to press for their demands.

They have been boycotting their classes since Tuesday and staging demonstration on the campus since then.
