Cox’s Bazar, July 17 (UNB) -Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel on Tuesday arrested 17 Rohingyas from separate places under Teknaf upazila of the district.
BGB sources said on secret information, a team of BGB launched a drive and arrested 12 Rohingya people from Shahpori dwip area at about 2:30 am and five others from Naitong Para under Teknef thana at about 4.00 am.
Of them, two Myanmar national identified as Yunus, 35, and Hossain, 18, who had been living here illegally for long, were handed over to Teknaf police.
Lieutenant colonel Zahid Hasan of BGB 42 battalion said the arrested Rohingyas people were helping other Rohingyas to enter into Bangladesh from Myanmar.
They also pushed back 15 Rohingyas to Myanmar today.
