Jhenidah, July 14 (UNB) - At least 10 people, including five cops, were injured in a clash between Awami League and BNP activists in Harinakundu upazila on Saturday.
Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Sarder Younus Ali and four other unidentified constables received slight injuries.
Police said a workers’ meeting of Swechchhasebok Dal was going on at a local BNP party office at about 1:30 pm.
The clash ensued as a procession brought out by
AL was passing by the area.
The feuding groups chased each other and damaged four shops and a motorbike.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Police arrested two people, including BNP Harinakundu upazila unit president Abul Hossain.
Younus Ali and four other constables sustained injuries in brickbat attack.
The injured were admitted to upazila health complex and different private clinics.
