6 ‘Hizb-ut Tawhid’ men held in Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj, July 13 (UNB) – Local people caught six suspected activists of Hizb-ut Tawhid and handed them over to police after a good beating in Hossainpur upazila on Friday night.

The arrested were identified as Barik, 24, Sattar, 22, Azizul, 23, Nayem, 22, Al Amin, 20, and Hanif, 21. The former hailed from Karimganj upazila while the rest from Hossainpur.

Police said local people caught the six young men following their suspicious movement at old Ankh Bazar at about 8:30 pm and gave them a good beating.

On information, police rushed in and arrested them, said officer-in-charge of Hossainpur Police Station AKM Mahabubul Alam.

Azizul was admitted to the upazila health complex while the others were being interrogated at the police station as of 11:20 pm, said the OC.
