News - Saudi envoy meets Khaleda, discusses bilateral issues
Dhaka, July 7 (UNB) - Saudi Ambassador Dr Abdullah bin Naser Al-Busairi made a courtesy call on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan office on Saturday night.

BNP sources said the ambassador went to Khaleda's office at 9:30pm and discussed matters of mutual interests between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.

BNP Chairperson’s advisers Riaz Rahman, and Sabihuddin Ahmed and her Saudi affairs special envoy Emauml Haque Chowdhury were also present at the meeting.

After the meeting, Sabihuddin Ahmed briefed reporters.

He said Khaleda Zia handed over a letter to the envoy to send it to the Saudi Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz. The letter describes the problems the Bangladeshi expatriates facing in Saudi Arabia.

The newly-appointed Saudi Crown Prince assured the opposition leader of taking effective measures to resolve the problems facing by Bangladeshi migrant workers in Saudi Arabia.

The Prince gave the assurance when Khaleda met him on June 24 in Saudi Arabia and requested him to solve Bangladeshi workers’ problems, including non-issuance of work permits to them.
