Tk 62 cr budget for Chandpur town announced

Chandpur, June 30 (UNB) – The budget of Chandpur town for 2012-2013 fiscal year (FY) was announced on Friday evening.

Mayor Nasiruddin Ahmed announced the Tk 62.26 crore budget of the century old pourasabha (municipality) at a function in presence of the chief guest Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, MP, councilors, government officials, elite of the town and journalists.

Announcing the budget the mayor said the size of the proposed budget is larger than that of the outgoing year, stating that the budget is bigger by Tk 5 crore than the previous one.

He said Tk 5 crore of the budget will be met by own resources of the town and Tk 4 crore will come from taxation on the transfer of movable properties under the municipality.

Tk 41973,870 was shown as revenue expenditure while Tk 429533,000, the biggest amount of the proposed budget, as income from development sector.
