Bagerhat, June 30 (UNB) – Two people were injured when they came under the attack by some miscreants at Chinguri village in Chitalmari upazila early Saturday.

The injured were identified as Babul Sheikh, 35, son of Abdul Hakim Sheikh and Reshma Begum, 28, wife of Ziaur Sheikh of the village.

Police said there was a long-running enmity between Mohsin group and Ruhul Amin group over the ownership of a char land in Madhumati River.

Alam Sheikh, a supporter of Mohsin group, was hacked to death by the rival group on April 18 this year. Ziaur Sheikh and his brother Babul sheikh were the witnesses of Alam murder case.

Ziaur said some supporters of Ruhul Amin group stormed into his house and stabbed his brother Babul and wife Reshma indiscriminately in a bid to kill them early in morning, leaving them critically injured. Ziaur said he, however, managed to flee the house during the attack.

Being informed police rushed in and rushed the injured to Chitalmari upazila health complex. A case was filed.
