Dhaka, June 20 (UNB) – Minister without portfolio Suranjit Sengupta on Wednesday urged BNP to place their demand for caretaker government (CG) in parliament instead of talking about outside the House.

He hoped that BNP will reach a consensus with the government about caretaker issue if the opposition party joins parliament and discuss the issue.

He made the remarks while addressing a memorial meeting on late politician Bahauddin Chowdhury and language hero Gaziul Haque at Institute of Diploma Engineers’ Auditorium in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.

Bangabandhu Academy organized the programme.

About the ruling gave by the Speaker on a supreme court judge`s remark, veteran parliamentarian Suranjit observed that the Speaker gave the ruling so that the Chief Justice can take necessary step to solve the issue.

He dismissed BNP’s allegation that democracy is in trouble due to the tussle between the parliament and the judiciary.

On Rohingya issue, Suranjit said the government took proper decision about Rohingya issue.

He accused the foreign media of publishing false reports on the influx.

Senior AL leader Abdul Jalil, MP, and poet Assad Chowdhury, among others, addressed the meeting, chaired by politician and freedom fighter Mozaffar Hossain Paltu.
