Iranian team calls on DU VC

Dhaka, June 20 (UNB) – A four-member Iranian team, led by Mohammad Oraei Karini, Cultural Counselor of Iran Embassy to Bangladesh, called on Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University (DU) his office on Wednesday.

During the meeting, they discussed matters of related to the interest of both countries` education, especially exchange of students, teachers and researchers between DU and different universities in Iran.

They also discussed the possibilities to provide scholarships for students and teachers who studied in different universities in Iran, modernisation of DU`s Persian language and literature curricula, collection of ancient scripts and their publication.

Prof Dr. Arefin Siddique thanked the Iranian team for visiting DU and showing their interest about its academic activities.

The three other members of the Iranian delegation were- Deputy Culture Counselor of Iranian Embassy Mostafa Sohrab, Prof. Dr. Hossain Ali Gobad of Tehran Tarabi`ate Mudarres University and Persian Studies Institute director Khaharman Soleimani. They were presented at the meeting, a DU release said.
