1 electrocuted in Satkhira

Satkhira, June 16 (UNB) - A BTCL employee was electrocuted in the town on Saturday.

The dead is Rezaul Karim Reza, 40, assistant lineman of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Ltd and son of late Mir Nurul Islam of Laskarpara of Kotia.

Deputy assistant engineer of Satkhira BTCL ABM Shokorana said Rejaul was repairing an inoperative telephone cable standing on a BTCL pole at Nobarun More. At one stage he came in contact with an overhead power line and received severe electric shock.

He was rescued and rushed to Satkhira Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.
