2 killed in Manikganj road crashes

Manikganj, June 14 (UNB) - Two people, including a child, were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in the district on Thursday morning.

A Mitra-bound tempo from the district town plunged into the roadside ditch at about 12:10am as its driver lost control over the steering at Nayakandi on Manikganj-Singair road, leaving a man dead on the spot and four others injured.

The deceased was identified as Amjad Khan, 45, son of late Monir Uddin of the village.
On information, fire fighters recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Meanwhile, Sohan, 5, son of Sohrab Hossain of Bathoimuri village of Ghior upazila died on the spot as a pickup van ran over him at about 9am while he was standing besides the road.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police also seized the van but its driver managed to flee the scene.
