Dhaka, June 10 (UNB) – A housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her house in city’s Dakkhin Khan thana on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Jhumur Akter Ratri, 23, wife of Niaz Morshed, mother of a six year old girl Nourin and resident of the area near the garage of Mizan.

Police said, being informed they recovered the hanging body of Jhumur in her house at about 7:45 am and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Jhumur had converted herself to Islam and married Niaz Morshed seven years back, said Azizur Rahman, sub-inspector of Dakkhin Khan thana.

She might have committed suicide following a family feud, police said.

An unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
