School going girl stripped by stalker in broad daylight

Narsingdi, June 09 (UNB) - Stalkers stripped a schoolgirl in broad daylight on her way to school at Saherchar village at Radhanagar union in Raipura upazila on Saturday.
Witnesses said a gang of local criminals, led by Rasel Mia, son of former UP chairman Abu Sayeed Mia of the village waylaid Maya (not the real name), Class IX student of Saherchar High School and sexually assaulted her by stripping the helpless girl of her school dress in broad daylight at 10 am.
``When the criminals sexually assaulted Maya and undressed her the villagers silently witnessed as Rasel is the son of a local influential man and reportedly a mastan (hoodlum)``, a villager, opting anonymity, said.
As the criminals left the spot a woman, who lives in the vicinity, rescued Maya, clad the victim with her sari and whisked her to her house. Later, she led the poor girl to her village home at neighbouring Gokulnagar and handed her over to her parents.
Angered at the incident, villagers of Gokulnagar marched in hundreds to neighbouring Sahernagar and attacked Abu Sayeed Mia`s house, triggering a clash with his supporters. At least 10 people were injured in the two-hour-long clash.
Being informed police rushed in and quelled the situation.
Among the injured, Kabir Mia, 25, Milon Mia, 45, and Sumon Mia, 28, were admitted to Raipura Hospital.
Parents of Maya lodged a complaint with Raipura thana accusing five, including Rasel, of raping her.
