Dhaka, June 9 (UNB) - Women Cell of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club on Saturday protesting repression on women across the country.
The programme was also aimed at protesting killing, secret killing and torture on journalists.
Addressing on the occasion, the speakers said that repression on women is going on. “This government failed to provide minimum security to women”.
They denounced attack on women by policemen on court premises and rape of a housewife by police in Khulna and demanded punishment of the policemen.
They warned of launching tough movement to realize their demand.
CPB assistant general secretary Syed Abu Jafar Ahmed, Prof. AN Rasheda, Hasan Tarek Chowdhury Sohel, among others, addressed the rally, chaired by convener of the cell Comrade Laxmi Chakraborty.
