Mentally retarded woman found hanging in Sylhet
Sylhet, Jun 6 (UNB) – A mentally retarded young woman was found hanging at Kuhaigarh village in Joyantapur upazila on Tuesday.
Police recovered the body of Shamima Akhter, 30, daughter of Azizur Rahman of the village, in the morning.
Police said the house inmates, including Shamima, went to sleep on Monday night as usual.
The family members found her hanging from the ceiling at their veranda in the morning and informed police.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
A UD case was filed in this connection.
