Auto-rickshaw driver held with sharp weapons in Sylhet

Sylhet, June 3 (UNB) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver along with sharp weapons and hockey sticks from Chowhatra area of the city on Saturday afternoon.

The arrestee was identified as Jumman Mia, 24, son of late Abul Hossain of Lamapara village in Sadar upazila.

RAB-9 sources said they conducted a drive in the area at about 6pm and intercepted Jumman’s auto-rickshaw and recovered seven knives, two ram daos and some hockey sticks from his three-wheeler.

Jumman and recovered weapons were handed over to Kotwali thana.

A case was filed.
