Dhaka, June 2 (UNB) - Police recovered the body of an unidentified woman sliced into 26 pieces from a multistoried commercial building in the city’s Hatirpool area on Saturday.

Police picked up six people for interrogation in connection with the gruesome murder.

According to them, local people first found a leg of the female body at a narrow passage outside a commercial building, ‘Nahar Plaza’, of Hatirpole in the morning and informed Shahbagh police.

Police reached the spot around 11:30 am and conducted simultaneous searches inside the building and its surrounding areas to recover the remaining parts of the remaining body up to 1:30 pm.

Sub-inspector Abdus Samad of Shahbagh Police Station said they recovered 26 pieces of the body from different positions, including bathroom inside Hotel Sky Garden located on the 12th floor of ‘Nahar Plaza’.

“The flesh was separated from different parts of the body,” he said.

Another police officer said six people were detained for quizzing in connection with the heinous killing.
