Fire burns 10 shops in B’baria

Brahmanbaria, June 2 (UNB)-A fierce fire gutted 10 shops at Hawkers’ Market in the district town on Friday night.

Fire service sources said the fire originating from electric short circuit broke out at about 10 pm and soon burned down 10 shops of the market.

On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after one and half hours of frantic efforts with the help of local people.

The affected traders claimed that the extent of loss from the fire could go up to Tk 1 crore.
