BCL leader killed in Comilla
Comilla, June 1 (UNB) - A Chhatra Legue leader of Comilla Polytechnic Institute unit was shot and stabbed to death by his rival faction at Balarampur on Comilla-Coatbari road in Sadar Dakkhin upazila on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Sohel, 25, joint secretary of Comilla Polytechnic Institute BCL unit and son of Selim Mia of Kashinathpur village in the upazila.
Police said there was an enmity between the two factions of Chhatra League over establishing supremacy at the institute since long.
Sources said a student of the institute called him out of his house and took him to Balarampur area at 9:30pm where his rivals shot and stabbed him indiscriminately.
Local people rescued him in unconscious state and rushed him to Comilla Medical College Hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead.
A case was filed.
