Narayanganj, May 14 (UNB) – A newly-wed housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room at Ikrampur area in Bandar upazila on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Moni Akhter, 18, wife of Ayub Ali of the area.

A family source said they got married three months ago and were living at a rented house.

Poly, Moni’s elder sister, finding the door of her sister’s room shut for a long time stormed into it with the help of locals and found her hanging body at about 12:30 pm and informed the police.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Moni’s family claimed that it was a planned murder.

ASI of Bandar thana Saiful Islam said they would know the reason behind the death after getting the autopsy report.
 
Ayub Ali went into hiding after the incident.
