CANBERRA, Australia, APR 30 (AP/UNB) - A mining magnate who is one of Australia's richest business people says he hopes to run for Parliament for the conservative opposition which opinion polls suggest will win government next year.
Clive Palmer has been the Liberal National Party's biggest donor.
He said Monday he seek a candidacy in the electoral district held by Deputy Prime Minister Wayne Swan since 1998.
Swan has described the opposition as "a wholly owned subsidiary of Mr. Palmer."
