JnU teachers protest recruitment of a teacher

Dhaka, Mar 18 (UNB) - Teachers of Statistics Department of Jagannath University on Sunday refrained from taking classes protesting the recruitment of a lecturer to Mathematics Department.

They alleged that the lecturer was appointed not as per merit and qualification required for the post.The name of the lecturer could not be known.

Contacted, Dr Kamal Uddin, proctor of the university, brushed aside the allegation, saying that the lecturer was appointed following all the rules and regulations of the university. They were protesting the recruitment for gaining political advantage, the proctor said.
