Dhaka, Mar 14 (UNB) - International Tribunal for Law of the Sea (ITLOS) in Hamburg will deliver its judgment today (Wednesday) on the Bangladesh-Myanmar maritime boundary case.
Foreign Minister Dipu Moni, who is also the agent of the case, was on way to Hamburg from London to receive the verdict to be delivered at 4:00 pm-4:30 pm (BST), officials at the Foreign Ministry told UNB.
On September 8 last year, Bangladesh made the submission on its case concerning delimitation of the maritime boundary with Myanmar at the ITLOS arguing for equitable solution of the longstanding dispute.
Making her submission, Dipu Moni strongly presented Bangladesh’s views on equitable sharing of Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and Continental Shelf in the Bay of Bengal against Myanmar’s method of equidistance.
The Foreign Minister made her submission before a 22-member bench headed by Jesus of Cape Verde.
