Dhaka, Feb 29 (UNB) - Nahim Razzak, son of late Awami League leader Abdur Razzak, was sworn in as MP of Shariatpur-3 constituency on Wednesday.
He has been elected MP unopposed to the constituency as his only rival candidate local BNP leader Muhitul Islam was barred from contesting the by-polls by the higher court, rejecting his petition two days ago.
The parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of Nahim's father former Awami League minister Abdur Razzak in December last year.
Speaker Advocate Abdul Hamid administered the oath to Nahim Razzak at the Speaker's Jatiya Sangsad office.
