MOGADISHU, FEB 28 (AP/UNB) - A colleague says gunmen shot dead a Somali radio journalist in the chaotic capital, Mogadishu.

Bashir Abdulqadir Mohamed said the attackers killed Somaliweyn radio director Abukar Hassan Kadaf on Tuesday. He says Kadaf died instantly after being shot in front of his home.

No one has claimed the responsibility for his death.

Masked militants from the al-Shabab group looted the station in 2012.

Attacks on journalists are common in war-ravaged Somalia. Another radio journalist was killed in January. Three journalists were killed last year, and there have been numerous attacks in the northern semiautonomous region of Puntland.
