Dhaka, Jan 22 (UNB) - The main opposition BNP will come up with its reaction today (Sunday) over the recent incident in the Army.
The decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the BNP standing committee, the party’s highest policymaking body, with Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the chair at her Gulshan office on Saturday night.
The party will make its reaction through a press conference at the BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan Office at 4pm, according to the BNP Chairperson office.
A standing committee member told UNB that the meeting discussed the recent press conference by the Army over the aborted coup in the Army and the ruling party leaders’ statements blaming the BNP for it.
He said BNP will expose the government’s ‘evil design’ over the recent incident centering the army.
The meeting, which began at 8:15pm, ended around 10pm.
Party leaders Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Lt. Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan and Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, among
others, attended the meeting.
