Dhaka, Sept 29 (UNB) -The High Court has issued a contempt rule asking the DC of Chapainawabganj and five others to explain in two weeks why they should not be punished for flouting its earlier orders over a jalmahal lease dispute.
Responding to a contempt petition filed by Qayum Reza Chowdhury, motwalli (caretaker) of Chowdhury Ismail Sajjad Johad Waqf Estate, a vacation division bench, headed by Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury, passed the order on Thursday.
Those face the contempt-of-court music are Chapainawabganj DC MA Azam, ADC (Revenue) Sarwar Jahan, deputy tax officer Jhumur Bala, Shibganj UNO Sarjil Hassan, Shibganj thana OC Mirza A Salam and general secretary of Monakasha Hajipara Matshajibi Samabaya Samiti Sentu.
Advocate NK Saha appeared for the contempt petitioner.
