Dhaka, June 16 (UNB) – Former caretaker government adviser Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman on Saturday stressed involving youths in adventures to keep them away from destructive works. “It’s necessary to bring about adventure as a paradigm in our society…otherwise there’s a possibility for youths to run into trouble,” he told a press conference and flag-in ceremony at National Press Club in the city in the afternoon. Zillur said: “We have to run to the success carrying values, not to ignore it.” Bangla Mountaineering and Trekking Club (BMCT) organised the function marking the return of Everest conquerors Nishat Majumder and MA Mohit. Renowned author Prof Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, former adviser to caretaker government Raseda K Chowdhury, BMTC founder Enam Ul Haque, managing director of Paragon Group Moshiur Rahman, proprietor of Swiss Bakery Ulfath Quader, brand manager of Polar Ice Cream Abdullah Al-Mamun, and vice president of Dhaka University Economics Department Alumni Association Khairul Majid Mahmud, among others, spoke on the occasion. Nishat Majumder and MA Mohit handed over the national flag that was raised atop Mount Everest to the honorable guests. Mohit has now become the only Bengali to reach the Everest summit twice and also the Bengali to be there at 8,000m peaks four times. The other expeditor, Nishat Majumder, is the first Bangladeshi woman who conquered the Mount Everest.
