Dhaka, June 12 (UNB) - A Court here on Tuesday turned down the bail petition of BNP Education Affairs Secretary Khairul Kabir Khokon in a case filed for burning a bus driver to death.Meanwhile, M Zilani, assistant organising secretary of Jubo Dal, co-accused in the case, was taken on a one-day police remand.Metropolitan magistrate Rezaul Karim passed the order after a hearing in the afternoon. Khokon was arrested by DB police at Dhaka Central Jail gate on June 3 soon after he came out of the jail on bail in connection with a case filed with Paltan Police Station.Later, he was shown arrested in the case filed for burning the bus driver to death at Khilgaon on the eve of an opposition-sponsored hartal.Zilani was arrested by police from in front of BNP central office at Naya Paltan on June 9 and shown arrested in the case.Badar Ali, a bus driver of Eagle Paribahan, was burnt to death as some unidentified miscreants set fire to his vehicle ahead of April 22 countrywide hartal called by BNP.Iqbal Ahmed Khan, Sub-inspector of Khilgaon Police Station, filed the case in this connection.
